Silversand Villa

From the air, Silversand Villa looks like a white jewel box dropped into the rice terraces of Tabanan: a crisp three-storey duplex framed by stepped green paddies, with a long emerald pool stretching out across the lawn below. On the ground the effect is just as striking, the gardens are so thick with palms, frangipani and tropical shrubs that the house feels completely screened from the outside world.

The villa is made up of two linked two-bedroom wings, booked together as one four-bedroom stay. Each wing has its own semi-open living room with woven furniture and garden views, a timber dining table for six, a full kitchen and a small plunge pool on its own deck, which makes it easy for two families to keep their own rhythm. Everyone meets at the sixteen-metre pool in the garden, lined with cushioned loungers and red parasols, with a thatched gazebo tucked into the greenery beside it.

Climb to the top and the rooftop terraces open up to wide views over the paddies, the coast and the distant volcanoes, a fine spot for sunset drinks. Down below, the black-sand surf beach at Kedungu is only a short walk away, while Echo Beach and the cafes of Canggu are an easy drive. Four staff look after the villa, with breakfast included each morning.
