Villa Viman

Villa Viman is a grand oceanfront home set into the hillside of Samsara, a small, secure estate of just eight villas on the stretch of coast between Kamala and Patong. Built over several levels beneath sweeping timber roofs, it turns every room towards the Andaman Sea, with walls of glass that bring in the blue of the bay and the green of the headland. Covering more than twelve hundred square metres with gardens beyond, it has the space and polish to suit large families and groups of friends who want a stay that feels like a private resort.

Outside, a thirteen-metre infinity pool stretches along the front of the house with a round spa pool at one end, and the water seems to spill straight into the sea below. Loungers and umbrellas line the deck, a shaded sala looks out over the bay, and a long outdoor dining table on the terrace makes the most of the sunset. Inside, a double-height living room with tall windows opens to the pool, flowing into a formal dining room and a modern kitchen. Further in, there is a second lounge, a home cinema room, and a games room with table tennis and foosball for younger guests.

The bedrooms are spread across three floors for real privacy. On the middle level, the master suite and two further bedrooms have king beds and open onto sea-view terraces with jacuzzis, and two more bedrooms sit on the garden level. A top-floor bedroom has a king and a single bed, and a separate nanny room is ideal for families travelling with help. A chef cooks Thai, Western, Chinese and Indian dishes, housekeeping is daily, security runs around the clock, and Kamala’s beach and village are only a few minutes away.
