A polished silver slide curls down from the upper floor of Akashi Residence and drops you straight into the pool, and it sets the tone for the whole house. Designed by architect Alexis Dornier and completed in 2024, the villa wraps three levels of timber balconies and planted terraces around an open central atrium, with the seventeen-metre pool winding through the middle and tropical greenery spilling over every rail.
The ground floor brings together the main kitchen, a long dining table and an air-conditioned living room, while a second kitchen and dining room sit on the lower level beside an ice bath and a sweeping garden lawn. Upstairs there is an open gym, and elsewhere you will find a yoga deck, a pool table, a sunken lounge shaded by thatched umbrellas and a media room with a large Smart TV for film nights. Six en-suite bedrooms are calm and pared back, with wide windows, warm wood and bold local artwork, and breakfast is included each morning with a private chef on hand for the rest of the day.
The house sits in quiet Pererenan, a short ride from the surf and sunsets of Pererenan Beach and a little further from the cafés and beach clubs of Canggu and Batu Bolong. It suits larger families and groups of friends who want a design-led base with space to spread out, a proper wellness setup and something for every age, from the slide to the pool table.
