About This Villa

Why We Recommend Fire Villa Berawa

A scooter turns off Jalan Pantai Berawa and drops into a lane barely wider than its handlebars, and after a couple of hundred metres the traffic simply stops being audible. A timber gate carries a single lit nameplate — FIRE — and behind it the walled garden opens out: a strip of lawn, heliconia and banana in full leaf, and a long pool holding the reflection of a two-storey wall of glass. Fire is one of five villas in the Hidden Elements collection, each named for an element and each built for two. This one takes its cue from warmth — rust-toned timber cladding, terracotta notes, and a render that turns gold in the late afternoon.

Inside, the ground floor is a single volume running the full height of the house. A curved sofa in sand tones faces a television recessed into a lit alcove; behind it a stone-topped island doubles as breakfast bar and the working heart of a kitchen with stove, oven, coffee maker and glassware enough for a long evening. Arched niches, back-lit and filled with ceramics, are cut into the white wall like windows into another room. An open-tread staircase climbs one side with a ribbon of brass sculpture hanging in the void beside it, and floor-to-ceiling doors slide away so the whole floor gives onto the pool terrace.

Upstairs belongs entirely to the bedroom. A king bed sits beneath a slatted timber ceiling that warms the whole room, with a glass balustrade along one side so you wake looking down through the living void and out to the treetops. The ensuite behind it is lined in grey stone — twin vessel basins on a floating vanity, black tapware, and a walk-in rain shower with its own window onto the greenery. A separate cloakroom downstairs means nobody climbs the stairs to wash their hands, and the split between levels gives the villa a rhythm, social below and quiet above, that a single-storey plan cannot manage.

Outdoors the pool runs almost the length of the garden, a timber sun deck at one end and lawn at the other, the walls high enough that the only thing overlooking you is the sky. Housekeeping comes daily, a welcome drink arrives when you do, and the Hidden Elements team carries luggage down the lane on arrival and departure — the one concession the scooter-only approach asks of you. Breakfast, a private chef, in-villa massage, airport transfers, scooter hire and beach-club reservations are all arranged on request. Berawa Beach and FINNS sit under a kilometre away, with Batu Bolong a short ride further on.

Fire suits couples who want Canggu within reach but not within earshot — a villa small enough to feel entirely yours, with a pool to swim before breakfast and a bedroom sitting up among the trees. Book it on its own, or add one of its four sister villas at Hidden Elements and bring friends along without sharing a roof.

Our Favourite Features

What Makes It Special

Double-height living volume

The whole ground floor rises two storeys to a mezzanine edge, so living, dining and kitchen share one bright and uninterrupted space.

Pool along the whole garden

Water runs nearly the full length of the walled garden, with a timber sun deck at one end and a strip of lawn alongside.

Bedroom above the living void

The king bedroom sits on the upper level behind a glass balustrade, looking down through the house and out over the treetops.

Stone-lined ensuite

Twin vessel basins, black tapware and a walk-in rain shower with a window opening onto the garden greenery.

Arched back-lit niches

Curved recesses cut into the white walls and lit from within hold ceramics and give the living room its signature detail.

A lane away from the traffic

The Hidden Elements gate sits roughly 200 metres off the main road, far enough that Berawa’s noise never reaches the garden.
