Little Mannao is the smaller sibling of Villa Mannao, which we also recommend, and it shares the same Kerobokan rice field location and the same commitment to authentic Javanese Joglo architecture. But where the larger Mannao is a six-bedroom estate, Little Mannao is a more intimate three-bedroom retreat — ideal for families or small groups who want that same quality and atmosphere without the scale.
The property is arranged as three separate Joglo pavilions set in an L-shaped tropical garden with an 11-metre swimming pool. The main Joglo houses the living and dining area — reclaimed teak furniture, hand-carved sculptures, copper lamps suspended from the traditional high-soaring roof, and white curtains that can be drawn for intimate dinners. The kitchen is open-plan and fully equipped. A second Joglo holds the master bedroom with a king-size canopy bed, stone bathtub, and rain shower. The third Joglo at the back of the garden contains two more bedrooms, each with outdoor and indoor rain showers, stone washbasins, and sliding doors to a veranda.
Why We Recommend Little Mannao
At $334 per night for three bedrooms, Little Mannao offers genuine Joglo architecture and the Mannao estate’s character at a fraction of the cost. The separate pavilion layout gives each couple or family unit their own space — the master suite is completely standalone, and the two back-garden bedrooms share a Joglo but each has its own en-suite. The outdoor showers are a highlight: showering in a walled garden with tropical birdsong and hot-and-cold water is one of those Bali experiences you remember. The garden gazebo with mosquito net and reading lights is a thoughtful touch for quiet evenings.
Our Favourite Features
- Three separate Joglo pavilions give genuine privacy — the master suite is its own standalone building
- Outdoor rain showers in secluded Balinese gardens — showering under the sky with birdsong is unforgettable
- The stone bathtub in the master suite is a proper luxury feature
- The main Joglo dining area with copper lamps and white curtains creates a memorable dinner setting
- An 11-metre pool long enough for laps, with four sunbeds and a cushioned gazebo with mosquito net
Good To Know
- Part of the larger Mannao estate in Kerobokan — if your group grows, you can book the six or eight-bedroom Mannao villas alongside
- Kerobokan is ten minutes from Seminyak by scooter — peaceful rice field setting but you need transport for restaurants and beaches
- The Joglo pavilions are open-air with traditional roofing — naturally ventilated (bedrooms have air conditioning)
- Bedrooms can be configured as king or twin beds, giving flexibility for different group compositions
For authentic Joglo architecture, outdoor showers, and a rice field setting at a price that works for smaller groups, Little Mannao is one of the most characterful three-bedroom options in the Kerobokan-Seminyak area.
