Villa Bumi
Why We Recommend Villa Bumi
A row of stepping stones crosses the lawn at Villa Bumi, leading from a long turquoise pool to a two-storey house of sage-green walls, timber shutters and wide glass doors. Tall hedges ring the garden, so the whole courtyard feels like your own green room in the middle of Kerobokan. Reaching it involves a short walk down a narrow lane, and that small detour is exactly what keeps the road noise and passing traffic well away.
The ground floor is laid out to keep the garden in view. The living room has a deep blue sectional sofa, rattan tables and carved timber panels, with doors that slide back towards the pool, while the dining table sits beneath a tall pitched ceiling and runs straight into a wooden kitchen with a round porthole window. Upstairs, a covered rooftop lounge with daybeds catches the breeze above the treetops, an easy spot for an afternoon read.
Four air-conditioned bedrooms each come with their own bathroom, several opening straight onto the lawn, and the bathrooms are a highlight in their own right, with stone walls, rain showers and a deep tub open to the sky. A housekeeper looks after the villa day to day. From here, Seminyak’s shops and restaurants and Canggu’s cafés and sunsets are each a short drive, and Batu Belig Beach is close by.
