Mia Palm Villa

Mia Palm Villa lies at the northern end of Chaweng Beach, where the sand is softer, the water calmer and the crowds further away. Three white pavilions with steep tiled roofs stand around a long pool in a garden of coconut palms and clipped lawns, and the beach is just beyond the trees, with blue-and-white chairs set out on the sand. Inside and out, the look is fresh and coastal, all white linen, indigo accents and carved Asian artwork, and Chaweng’s restaurants and shops are an easy hop away.

The 21-metre pool is the centre of the villa’s day, edged with loungers and parasols and lit softly at night. Children have their own paddling pool, and between the two sits a sunken sala with deep cushioned sofas, a favourite spot for a cold drink while keeping an eye on the little ones. There is an outdoor jacuzzi too, and plenty of shaded terraces for lazy afternoons. Behind wide glass doors, the open-plan lounge has timber floors, a handmade rug and a big television, flowing into the dining room and a fully equipped white kitchen.

All five bedrooms have king beds, air conditioning and spacious bathrooms of their own, and the master bathroom adds an extra-large bathtub and an outdoor walk-in rain shower. As part of the Mia estate, guests can use the clubhouse, with a home cinema, a gym, a steam room, massage rooms and a kids’ club, plus a front desk to help plan days out. Breakfast and return airport transfers are included, and a chef, housekeepers and a villa manager look after everything.
