Nova Oasis 1
Why We Recommend Nova Oasis 1
The approach to Nova Oasis 1 is a narrow white-walled lane with a palm leaning over it, which gives no hint of what waits behind the solid timber door. Step through and the whole plot opens into a single courtyard: a pool running the length of the villa, travertine underfoot, and a cushioned daybed built into an arched alcove at the water’s edge so one person can lie in the shade while another swims a few strokes away. Glass runs the full height of the ground floor along that side, so the living room reads as part of the courtyard rather than a room looking onto it. Batu Bolong’s cafes and the beach are a short walk from the gate.
Inside, the floor drops a step into a sunken lounge, an L-shaped banquette in soft cream wrapped around a round jute rug and a low dark table, with arched plaster niches holding ceramics along the back wall and a smart television set into the render. The kitchen sits behind it under the same high white ceiling: a marble island with an integrated sink and a brass gooseneck mixer, dark timber cabinetry, open shelves and bar stools drawn up along one side. The dining table is a long slab of dark timber for six, lit by three rattan pendants, and the whole floor stays cool with the glazing pulled shut and the air conditioning on.
Both bedrooms are upstairs, reached by an open white stair that folds around the kitchen. Each takes a king bed under a pair of rattan pendants, with an arched alcove behind the headboard, a jute rug underfoot and a wide picture window that fills with palm tops and terracotta rooftops through the day and deep blue at dusk. One has a boucle lounge chair by the window, the other a macrame hanging and a floor cushion. Both have their own bathroom through an arched doorway, finished with a poured stone trough basin, a round mirror between wall sconces and a black rain shower behind glass. A guest cloakroom downstairs keeps the courtyard traffic away from them.
Days settle into the courtyard. Coffee at the island, a swim before the sun clears the wall, then the alcove daybed for the hottest part of the afternoon and a rinse under the river-pebble shower arch at the end of it. Villa staff clean daily, building staff are on hand around the clock for arrivals, and the concierge team will arrange an airport transfer, a car and driver, breakfast, a massage in the villa, a nanny, a pool fence or a day out to the temples. The beach clubs and the cafe strip that made this stretch of Canggu what it is are all within a few minutes.
Nova Oasis 1 will suit two couples, or a family of four, who want Canggu’s beach clubs and cafes on the doorstep and a private courtyard to retreat into when the heat comes up. Take it for a week, cook at the island, claim the alcove daybed by turns, and let the concierge team sort out everything beyond the gate.
