Villa Sip Hohk

Samujana Villa 16 sits high on the hillside above Choeng Mon, and its elevated position gives it a true bird’s-eye view: palms and rooftops falling away below, and open sea stretching across to the neighbouring islands. The architecture is crisp and contemporary, with warm timber floors, sliding glass walls and roll-up doors that turn the main living space into one airy, semi-open room. Mornings here start with breakfast at the long dining table, looking straight out over the water.

The fifteen-metre infinity pool is the centrepiece, wrapped in stone and timber decks with sun beds right at the water’s edge. At sunset the pool turns gold and seems to spill straight over the hill. The open-plan living room flows onto the pool deck, and inside there is a billiards room behind glass and a cinema room for quieter nights. Best of all is the roof deck, which gives a full 360-degree sweep of the ocean and coastline, a perfect spot for an evening drink.

All four bedrooms have king beds, televisions, safes and their own bathrooms. The master suite has its own terrace running right to the edge of the infinity pool, and its bathroom features a jacuzzi tub, while the other bathrooms have freestanding tubs and open-air showers set among tropical planting. One bedroom also includes a small office corner for anyone who needs to work. Two staff look after the villa, breakfast and airport transfers are included, and the airport is only around five kilometres away.
