Samujana Villa 28 sits high on the Samujana hillside above Choeng Mon, and its view is the thing you will remember: a sweeping panorama over turquoise water, scattered islands and the green hills of north-east Samui. The six-bedroom house is set out in clean white tiers with planted roofs, and nearly every space faces the sea, from the bedrooms to the dining table.

Its infinity pool is large and generously shaped, laid out in several sections with an edge that seems to pour straight into the bay. A covered outdoor lounge with deep sofas sits right on the pool terrace, a timber deck juts out towards the view, and an upper sun terrace lined with loungers and parasols catches the light all day. Meals are served at a long dining table under the roof, open to the breeze and the panorama.

Inside, a calm, neutral living and dining room with ceiling fans leads to a fully equipped kitchen, and there is a padded home cinema with reclining loungers and a private gym with sea views.
