Terra Calma

Terra Calma is held up by a row of round timber columns, and they change the whole character of the villa. Rather than walls meeting a ceiling, the pavilion rests on turned posts under an exposed-beam roof, so the structure is visible and the edges stay open — closer to a traditional pavilion than to a modern box with glass in it.

Because the living room’s timber doors fold back completely along two sides, the ground floor becomes a covered terrace whenever you want it to. A cream sofa sits under the beams facing the pool, with a solid timber dining table and rattan chairs beside it beneath woven pendants, and the kitchen running along the back wall in warm timber. There is no glass to slide, no threshold to step over.

The pool runs the length of the courtyard against dense planting, with an arched alcove at one end holding a shaded daybed. Two bedrooms sit behind arched timber doors under the same pitched ceilings, each with its own bathroom in pale plaster with a round timber-framed mirror and a walk-in shower. Everything is on one level, and the beach is around five minutes away.
