About This Villa

Why We Recommend The Chands Delapan

The Chands Delapan is one of just two three-bedroom villas within The Chands, a gated compound of eight individually designed villas on a terraced hillside above Batu Belig Beach. The compound sits at Jalan Pantai Batu Belig no 14, roughly 100 metres from the sand, which puts you closer to the ocean than most Seminyak villas can honestly claim. Delapan occupies the upper section of the estate, and its two-storey layout takes full advantage of the elevation. The master suite sits on the top floor with a private balcony that looks directly out over the Indian Ocean, and the main terrace alongside it holds a private infinity pool, poolside bale, and sunbeds positioned squarely in the path of the sunset. At $572 per night in low season for three bedrooms and six guests, that works out to $191 per bedroom or $95 per person – a figure that becomes harder to argue with once you factor in the included daily breakfast, staffing, and beachfront position.

The layout across two floors gives Delapan a sense of space and separation that most three-bedroom villas in this price range lack. The ground floor has two guest bedrooms at opposite ends of an internal courtyard, each with king-size beds, air conditioning, and en-suite bathrooms fitted with deep stone bathtubs and rain showers. Between them sits an enclosed living area that works well as a media room for families – comfortable seating, a television, and ceiling fans make it a natural retreat during the heat of the afternoon. An open-air dining area and kitchenette occupy the ground floor as well, so breakfast and casual meals happen without needing to leave the villa. Upstairs, a second living space with lounging sofas and a private bar opens onto the pool terrace, creating the kind of indoor-outdoor flow that defines the best tropical architecture. This is where the villa truly earns its rate: the upper terrace catches the sea breeze, the pool reflects the sky, and the unobstructed western horizon means every evening ends with the sort of sunset that people travel to Bali specifically to see.

The compound’s staffing is a genuine advantage rather than a marketing line. A dedicated team of housekeepers, a villa manager, receptionists, and round-the-clock security look after the property, and they are consistently praised in guest reviews for being attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast is included and can be served at the villa or at the compound’s restaurant – the floating breakfast option, served poolside, is a particular favourite. The staff can also arrange private chefs, spa treatments in the estate’s dedicated treatment room, and tour drivers on request. A complimentary scheduled shuttle to central Seminyak is available, though in practice the location makes it easy to walk to most things you would want.

Batu Belig sits at the northern end of the Seminyak strip, where the beach is quieter and the dining scene has matured into something genuinely interesting. Mari Beach Club is a short stroll along the sand. Tropicola and Potato Head are reachable on foot heading south. Back on the road, restaurants like Sarong, Merah Putih, and HUGE are all within a 10-minute drive or a pleasant 20-minute walk. The beach itself has Bali’s characteristic dark volcanic sand – dramatic and photogenic, particularly at golden hour, though worth mentioning to guests who picture white sand when they think of a beach villa.

For families or small groups wanting a three-bedroom villa that delivers genuine beachfront proximity, ocean-view pools, and included staffing without the price tag of a standalone estate, The Chands Delapan hits a compelling balance. The elevated position within the compound gives it views and breezes that the lower villas cannot match, and the two-floor layout provides enough separation between the master suite and guest rooms to keep everyone comfortable. It is not the most private villa in Bali – compound living means shared pathways and the occasional neighbouring voice – but at under $200 per bedroom per night with breakfast, staff, and a beachfront infinity pool included, the value equation is hard to beat in this part of Seminyak.
