The Garden House

Tucked down a quiet back lane in the heart of Seminyak, The Garden House feels like a well-loved bohemian beach house that just happens to have its own tropical garden and pool. Weathered timber, louvred French doors, checkerboard floors and canopied beds give it a relaxed, collected-over-years character, the kind of place that is styled for living in rather than for show.

Life revolves around the twelve-metre pool, fringed by palms, pandanus and frangipani, with cushioned bamboo loungers under the trees and a shaded daybed in the poolside bale. The high-ceilinged main pavilion holds a generous lounge cooled by ceiling fans, an indoor dining table for six and a characterful kitchen where a chef can cook Balinese dishes or your favourite comfort food, while a long timber table on the covered terrace seats eight for unhurried dinners by the water.

The three bedrooms sit in their own separate units, each with a draped queen bed and a private bathroom, and the master opens straight onto a furnished terrace beside the pool. Step outside and you are a short walk from the restaurants and boutiques of Seminyak’s Eat Street, and roughly five minutes on foot from the beach and KU DE TA for sunset.
