Veyla – Beach Villa

Veyla Beach Villa is one of a small collection of beachfront homes at Veyla, a private estate on Natai Beach, just north of Phuket. It is architecture at its most serene: pale stone, warm timber and vast sliding glass walls, set behind a band of coastal trees with the sand and the Andaman Sea right in front. The beach here is long and wonderfully empty, and the house is shaped around it, so the sea and the evening light are always the first thing you notice.

The ten-metre saltwater pool runs from the living pavilion towards the beach, softly lit after dark and edged with low planting and deep daybeds. A glass-fronted terrace with more loungers catches the last of the sun, and tucked into a leafy corner of the garden there is a hanging swing seat for slow afternoons. Inside, the living room opens completely to the pool, with long cream sofas and a slab-timber coffee table, while the dining room seats everyone around one generous table beside a sleek, timber-lined kitchen.

All three bedrooms have king beds on low timber platforms and their own bathrooms. The standout suite is wrapped in glass with a sculptural wooden soaking tub and a walk-in rain shower, and the others look out over the garden or towards the sea. Daily breakfast is included, the in-villa chef can cook lunch and dinner, and a villa manager and daily housekeeping look after the house. It is a calm, polished choice for a family or two couples who want the beach on the doorstep.
