Villa Amann sits right on the sand at Kamala, a crisp, contemporary beach house where you can step off the lawn and straight onto a soft curve of white beach. Clean white lines, pale stone and walls of glass frame the Andaman Sea from the moment you walk in, and the jungle-clad headland beside the bay gives the setting a sheltered, tucked-away feel. With eight bedrooms and room for sixteen, it is made for big families and groups of friends who want to share one exceptional address.

The centrepiece is a nineteen-metre infinity pool that runs alongside the beach, lined with sun loungers and backed by a sea-view jacuzzi and a green lawn that slopes down to the shore. Kayaks wait on the sand for paddling across the bay, and the sunsets from the terrace are hard to beat. Indoors, a vast open-plan living room opens fully to the pool, with a billiards table and a mahjong table close to the sofas, and a long dining table seats the whole group, with a glass-fronted wine cellar alongside.

For downtime there is a media room with a big Smart TV and video games, plus a gym looking into the garden. Four king bedrooms, several facing the sea, sit alongside four twin rooms whose beds can be joined, and every room has its own bathroom, with rain showers and freestanding tubs.
