Villa Ambra

At the bottom of Villa Ambra’s lawn, a sunken circular lounge piled with cushions sits on an old stone terrace with nothing in front of it but the surf of Pererenan. It is one of very few absolute beachfront homes on this stretch of coast, and almost every space is turned to face the water, from the infinity pool to the bedroom balconies and the dining terrace by the sea wall.

The twenty-metre infinity pool runs along the edge of a wide lawn, lined with loungers and white parasols and shaded by frangipani trees, with a gazebo and an open-air dining table close by. The main living pavilions rise beneath soaring thatched roofs, filled with carved timber, rattan and bold red and turquoise accents, and they open fully to the garden and ocean. Away from the sun there is a home cinema with deep cushioned seating, a library, a spa room for massages, a gym and a table tennis table, plus use of a floodlit tennis court shared within Pantai Lima Estate. Little ones get their own shallow children’s pool beside the main one.

The five bedrooms are generous, several with canopy beds and private balconies or terraces, and every one has its own bathroom, most with a bathtub and one with an open-air bath. A villa manager, butlers, chefs, housekeepers, drivers and security look after the house, so meals can be cooked in the villa whenever you like, and your round-trip airport transfer is part of the stay. The beach is right in front for morning walks and sunset, and Pererenan’s cafés and restaurants, with Canggu beyond, are only a short ride away.
