Villa Ania

An arched timber gate, cut into a white rendered wall on a quiet Pererenan lane, is where Villa Ania begins. Step through and the garden opens around a pool that refuses to be a rectangle: a curving sweep of turquoise water with a shallow ledge, crossed by pale stepping stones laid over white gravel. Both bedrooms are upstairs, each with air conditioning, a ceiling fan and its own ensuite behind a sliding timber barn door. The first opens through glass doors onto a small balcony with a timber bistro table and two stools, looking out over palms and red-tiled rooftops, lovely for coffee at sunrise or a drink as the sky turns pink. The second has a cushioned window seat and bold black-and-cream artwork above the bed. The bathrooms are quietly sculptural: one has an arched shower alcove with twin rain showers and three slim slot windows, the other a slatted skylight that throws stripes of sunlight across a sculpted plaster basin.

Daily housekeeping is included, with a welcome drink on arrival, fresh towels, high-speed Wi-Fi, a safety box and a concierge team on hand.
