Villa Bond Ubud

Villa Bond Ubud feels less like a house than a series of glass-and-timber platforms floating above the jungle. Set on a forested slope in the artisan village of Mas, just south of Ubud, it looks out over tall palms, dense greenery and glimpses of rice terraces, and from almost every room the only view is green.

The architecture is bold and open. A sixteen-metre infinity pool runs along the main deck beneath a cantilevered upper level, with loungers and umbrellas at its edge and the canopy dropping away beyond. Inside, floor-to-ceiling glass wraps a long living room with deep sofas, a long dining table and a fully equipped kitchen, all warmed by timber ceilings. Lower down the slope there is a lawn, a hammock strung between the trees and quiet corners for a book.

Five bedrooms each come with their own bathroom, several with freestanding tubs set against the forest, so it suits families and friends travelling together. A dedicated spa room with a sauna, a billiard table and a personal guest assistant with daily housekeeping keep the days easy, while Ubud’s cafes, galleries, palace and Sacred Monkey Forest are a short drive away.
