Villa Camilla 2

Tucked down a quiet side lane in the middle of Canggu, Villa Camilla 2 is the kind of place you can walk out of for a flat white and be back by the pool before it cools. Cafés, boutiques, spas and the supermarket are all an easy stroll away, around Batu Bolong, yet once the gate closes the world shrinks to a ribbon of blue water, a timber sun deck and a lush, walled tropical garden.

The living, dining and kitchen space is fully enclosed and air-conditioned, which makes a real difference on the hottest Bali afternoons. Tall glass doors slide back to let the breeze in, or close to keep things cool for a film on the sofa. Outside, an eight-metre pool runs the length of the garden, with sunloungers and a shaded gazebo for long, unhurried lunches, and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking at home.

Three king bedrooms each have their own bathroom, and two of them interconnect, an easy fit for parents with children or close friends travelling together. The third room sits across the pool for a little extra privacy. Off-street parking is a genuine bonus in this part of Canggu, and the beach is a short drive or scooter ride away for surf in the morning and sunset in the evening.
