Villa Condensé

Villa Condensé sits on the quiet edge of Ubud with nothing but rice paddies and coconut palms in front of it, and that view follows you everywhere, from the pool to the living room to the bedroom doors. It is a calm, elegant hideaway for a family or a group of friends who want to slow down in the countryside while keeping the restaurants, markets and palace of central Ubud a short drive away.

The centrepiece is a twenty-metre infinity-style pool running along the edge of the rice fields, with sunloungers, parasols and a shaded gazebo beside it. Behind it, a soaring alang-alang thatched pavilion holds the open-plan living space, with deep sofas, a long dining area, a bar counter and a sleek modern kitchen, all open to the breeze and the green views beyond. A private spa room with two treatment beds overlooks the fields, so massages can happen without ever leaving home.

The four bedrooms are set in their own pavilions around the garden, giving everyone privacy while keeping the group close. Three have canopied king beds and the fourth is a twin room, and every room has its own bathroom with a bathtub and a garden shower. Breakfast is included each morning, and a team of five, with a personal guest assistant, looks after housekeeping, the garden and 24-hour security, with lunch and dinner cooked on request.
