Villa Crystal Castle
Why We Recommend Villa Crystal Castle
Villa Crystal Castle sits in 4,600 square metres of tropical garden in Mas village on the edge of Ubud, where coconut palms give way to open rice paddies and the loudest sound in the morning is birdsong. Rather than one large house, it is a cluster of traditional Balinese pavilions spread across lawns and planting, so each part of the estate feels calm and private even with a full group in residence.
At its heart is an eighteen-metre pool with a shallow end for children, framed by the open-sided main pavilion on one side and green lawn on the other. The living room is all cream sofas and carved timber, opening straight onto the water, and long dining tables sit beneath woven lanterns beside the pool. Further into the garden, a raised yoga shala with polished timber floors looks out across the paddies, while a spa room, a mini juice bar and a rose quartz reflexology spiral set among the lawns complete the wellness side of the estate.
Seven bedrooms, each named after a crystal and finished in teak with pieces from the villa’s own crystal collection, are scattered through the estate, one pair sharing a stone tub set in the garden. A villa manager, private chef and full team look after the house, with breakfast included, so it suits families, friends and small retreat groups who want space and easy days. The Goa Gajah elephant cave is under three kilometres away, and Ubud Palace less than six.
