Villa Dedaun

Arched doorways, whitewashed walls and black-and-white patterned tiles give Villa Dedaun the feel of a Mediterranean island house that somehow washed up in Bingin, in Uluwatu. Behind high walls and dense planting, the three-bedroom villa is a quiet, light-filled hideaway on a peaceful street, only a short stroll from one of Bali’s best-loved surf beaches.

The garden is the heart of it all. A free-form, lagoon-style pool curves around rock edging and timber decking, shaded by a tall old tree and lush tropical planting, with sun loungers along its edge and a thatched pavilion with cushioned daybeds tucked in the corner for slow evenings. Wide arches open the living room straight onto the water, so wicker armchairs, plush sofas and paper lanterns sit just steps from the pool. The open-plan kitchen has a timber-fronted island with a hob, and a six-seat dining table sits alongside under the high white beams.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own ensuite with an open-air shower, along with timber double doors that open to the garden or veranda, stone platform beds and alcove shelving. Daily housekeeping keeps everything fresh, and the staff can arrange in-villa breakfasts, massages, drivers and tours. Bingin Beach is a few minutes on foot, with cafés and restaurants all around, and Green Bowl and Pandawa beaches are an easy drive away.
