Villa Es Palmador

Banana leaves, heliconia and a tumble of pink bougainvillea crowd right up to the edge of the pool at Villa Es Palmador, so the water seems to sit inside a small private jungle. A weathered timber gate with the villa’s name opens onto this two-bedroom hideaway in Umalas, where a boho, island-style interior and a deep green garden make it feel far more secluded than its easy location suggests.

Life here is lived in one open-sided pavilion. A long white built-in sofa wraps around the lounge beneath rattan lanterns, steel-framed windows look out to the planting, and the kitchen runs alongside with a white island, rattan stools and patterned cement tiles. A timber deck links it all to the pool, with two loungers set out for afternoons in the sun, and the whole space feels breezy, relaxed and very Bali.

Both bedrooms have queen beds, warm timber floors and their own bathrooms, finished in grey stone and white render. One room also has a bunk bed, which makes the villa an easy fit for a young family as well as two couples. Breakfast is included and housekeeping is daily, and the cafés of Umalas are close by, with Berawa Beach and Seminyak a short drive away.
