Villa Oasis trades Balinese teak for sun-baked plaster, keyhole arches and tall cacti, a Moroccan-inspired hideaway for two in Umalas, on the edge of Canggu. Everything is washed in warm sand and terracotta tones, softened by billowing linen curtains and palms swaying above a thatched roofline.
The pool is the heart of the place: a long, softly lit stretch of pale green water running the length of a walled courtyard, with built-in lounging ledges heaped with bright cushions along one side. The living space opens straight onto it, with a low daybed, a rustic timber table and a kitchen tucked into plastered niches, while the two bedrooms feel like desert suites, with platform beds set beneath sculpted arches, oversized mirrors and sheer drapes.
Bathrooms continue the look with curved plaster walls, stone basins and skylights that send the afternoon sun pouring in. It is quiet and wonderfully private, yet the cafés, shops and beach clubs of Berawa and Seminyak are only a short ride away.
