Villa Jepun

Tucked into a quiet lane in Petitenget, Villa Jepun puts Seminyak’s best stretch of beach, its temple and its beach clubs within easy reach while keeping a peaceful, walled garden all to itself. As dusk falls, candles flicker along the pool edge, the sky turns violet above the palms and the whole villa takes on a warm, intimate glow.

A nine-metre pool runs the length of the garden, edged by a timber deck with sun loungers, a daybed and a stone Buddha set among tropical planting. Glass doors fold back from the living room so the sofas, the six-seat dining table and the fully equipped kitchen all look out over the water, while a flat-screen TV with surround sound makes for easy film nights. Up a flight of stairs, a rooftop terrace with a thatched bale, rattan sofas and daybeds catches the breeze and the sunset.

The master bedroom opens straight onto the pool and has a semi open-air bathroom with a deep bathtub; a second king room looks onto a private side garden, and a smaller third room with twin beds suits children or an extra friend. Breakfast is included, guests can use a sauna and gym, and Petitenget beach, the cafés and boutiques of Jalan Kayu Aya and Seminyak’s dining scene are all close by.
