La Concha Villa
Why We Recommend La Concha Villa
La Concha is a commanding seven-bedroom retreat on the hillside above Bophut, its sweep across the Gulf of Thailand reaching all the way to Koh Phangan on clear days. What makes it genuinely rare on Koh Samui is the marriage of scale, accessibility and full-service staffing under one roof — for extended families, milestone birthdays or friends travelling together, a comparable package is hard to find on the island.
Three levels are linked by a private lift, a feature that sets La Concha apart from the step-laden hillside villas around it — grandparents reach the rooftop deck without a single stair, and so do parents carrying sleeping toddlers. The ground floor pairs two en-suite bedrooms with a games room kitted out with a PS5, ping pong and foosball, giving teenagers their own territory. The first floor opens into a generous living, dining and kitchen space that flows to the infinity-pool terrace, flanked by two more suites, while three further sea-view bedrooms crown the top floor, sharing a sun deck that catches the morning light and the evening colours over the Gulf.
It is the included service that lifts La Concha above a self-catering house. A guest manager fluent in English, French and Chinese arranges everything from restaurant tables to island excursions, continental breakfast is served daily, the villa chef cooks lunch for little over the cost of ingredients, and evening dining can be added. A complimentary round-trip airport transfer, 24-hour security, covered parking for two and an in-villa sauna with its own shower room complete the picture. Fisherman’s Village is five minutes downhill — its shophouse restaurants, cocktail bars and famous Friday Walking Street market — with Big Buddha and the Bangrak pier to Koh Phangan both within ten.
