Villa Longhouse

High on a hillside above Jimbaran, Villa Longhouse looks out over a sweeping panorama of treetops, rooftops and sky, stretching across the island towards distant mountains. The breeze up here is constant, the light changes hour by hour, and the infinity pool seems to spill straight into the view. It is a house built for families and friends travelling together, with room for everyone to spread out.

The estate steps down the slope in a series of pavilions under traditional alang-alang roofs. The main open-sided lounge sits right on the pool edge, and glass-walled dining rooms with long timber tables look across the landscape. There is a modern kitchen, a media room with deep sofas, a gym, a spa room for in-villa massage, a yoga deck and tiered lawns with shaded daybeds. A smaller second pool adds a quieter spot for a dip, and a lift between levels makes the villa far easier for grandparents or anyone less steady on stairs.

The eight bedrooms are spread between the main house and a separate guesthouse, mixing king, queen and twin rooms, each with its own bathroom and air-conditioning. A large staff team keeps the place running smoothly, with chef-cooked meals available on request. Jimbaran Bay’s seafood restaurants are a short drive away, and the beaches of Balangan and Dreamland, along with the clifftop spots of Uluwatu, are within easy reach.
