Villa Maju
Why We Recommend Villa Maju
Koi drift through stone-edged ponds at Villa Maju, fountains trickle beside the paths and a serene Buddha watches over a long, glittering pool. This three-bedroom villa is laid out as a cluster of thatched Balinese pavilions spread around generous tropical gardens, giving it a sense of space and calm that is rare this close to the centre of Seminyak.
The main pavilion is the social hub, open on all sides beneath a soaring alang-alang roof, with deep red sofas, a teak dining table for eight and a sleek kitchen complete with a teppanyaki grill. Outside, sunbeds line the pool deck, a thatched bale with a cushioned daybed sits right at the water’s edge, and a shaded picnic table in the garden makes a lovely spot for lunch. Each bedroom has its own pavilion: the master opens to both pool and garden and has a high ceiling, a netted king bed and a semi-open bathroom with a rain shower, while the guest rooms, one with a canopied king and one with twin beds, have bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers.
A team of five, including a personal guest assistant, looks after the villa and can book trips, taxis and meals in. Eat Street’s restaurants and boutiques are around a ten-minute walk away, with Double Six beach and local restaurants such as Manak close by.
