Villa Mejan

A thatched bale with plump white cushions sits at the far end of Villa Mejan’s pool, and it quickly becomes everyone’s favourite spot. Beyond it, a long stretch of turquoise water runs past wooden sunloungers and a sweep of manicured lawn, all wrapped in frangipani, palms and tropical planting. It is a fresh, light-filled four-bedroom home in Canggu, built for families and groups of friends who want space to spread out without losing each other.

Inside, the look is soft and Mediterranean: limewashed walls, arched niches, warm teak shelving and floor-to-ceiling black-framed glass that slides open to the garden. A deep grey sofa faces a large television in the lounge, a long timber dining table seats the whole group, and the fully equipped kitchen has an island with stools for breakfast and coffee. All four bedrooms have king beds, air conditioning and their own bathrooms, several with plant-filled garden showers, and every room looks out over the greenery.

Housekeeping comes in every day, keeping the pool and garden spotless, and a baby cot and high chair are on hand for younger travellers. Step outside and Canggu’s cafés, restaurants and shops are within walking distance, while the surf beaches are a short drive away, close enough for a sunset stroll on the sand before dinner.
