Villa Merayu Dua

A slim ribbon of turquoise water runs the full length of Villa Merayu Dua, edged by white loungers on one side and a wall of palms on the other, while the crisp white facade rises in clean, stacked layers above it. This is contemporary Canggu at its most polished: a five-bedroom home with soaring ceilings, glossy floors and generous walls of glass, set in a quieter corner of the area yet only minutes from its cafés, boutiques and beaches.

The ground floor is one bright, double-height space. A plush leather sectional faces a large screen in the lounge, a long timber table sits beside a floating staircase lined with greenery, and the warm teak kitchen is built around a marble-topped island with stools. Glass doors pull back to the pool deck, so mornings drift easily from coffee to a first swim. Up top, a rooftop terrace with an outdoor dining table opens to big skies and the green treetops beyond, the obvious place for long lunches and sunset drinks.

Each of the five bedrooms pairs a queen bed with a timber feature wall, air conditioning, its own television and an ensuite with a rain shower, and one bathroom adds a deep soaking tub. A dedicated villa team looks after the day-to-day, and meals or a barbecue can be arranged. Echo Beach’s surf breaks are close by, as are the many restaurants that have made Canggu one of Bali’s favourite places to eat out.
