Villa Mimpi Nyata

Mimpi nyata means “a dream come true” in Indonesian, and the name fits the moment you see the pool: a long, blue ribbon of water running down the middle of a sweeping lawn, lined with loungers and teal umbrellas, with low white pavilions and palms on either side. Set on around 1,700 square metres of garden in the Canggu area, near Tibubeneng, this five-bedroom villa gives families and friends a rare amount of room to breathe.

The heart of the house is a vast open-plan pavilion beneath a vaulted timber ceiling and glittering chandeliers, with deep white sofas, a smart TV, a long communal dining table and a billiard table all under one roof. A professional-feeling kitchen sits just behind. Outside, a covered terrace with an adjustable louvred roof holds a second lounge and an outdoor dining table looking straight onto the pool, which glows after dark. There is a table tennis table, gym equipment and a barbecue too, so lazy days at home never run short of things to do.
