Villa Nirvana

Villa Nirvana stands right on the sand at Cape Panwa, the quiet peninsula on Phuket’s south-east coast, looking west across Chalong Bay to the green hills beyond. Palms lean over a calm, uncrowded beach, longtail boats drift past, and in the evening the whole bay turns orange as the sun goes down behind the hills. It feels a world away from the busy west-coast resorts, yet Phuket Town is only around fifteen minutes by car.

The house is laid out over two floors, with the main living space upstairs to make the most of the view. Glass doors open from a bright, all-white lounge onto a wide terrace with rattan sofas, sun beds, a shaded outdoor dining table and a jacuzzi big enough for six, the spot most guests claim for sunset. Indoors there is a sleek kitchen with a long island and stools, a long glass dining table, a 75-inch smart TV and even a piano. Down at the beach, a sixteen-metre pool with a gazebo and loungers is shared with the neighbouring homes, with the sand a few steps away.

Four bedrooms sleep eight. Three have king beds and one has two singles, ideal for children, and the garden-level rooms open straight onto the lawn with views towards the sea. The bathrooms are a highlight, finished in dark stone and glass, with deep soaking tubs and an open-air shower in the master. Housekeeping and security look after the villa, and a chef, laundry and babysitting can be arranged, so families can settle in and simply slow down.
