Villa Novaku

A pair of peacock-backed rattan thrones on the upstairs balcony sets the tone at Villa Novaku, a two-bedroom hideaway in central Seminyak where playful colour meets Balinese craft. Lime-green linens, butterfly artworks and Moroccan-style lanterns brighten crisp white rooms, while a thatched pavilion and a stone Buddha water feature bring calm to the walled garden.

The two bedrooms are set apart for privacy. The master suite sits upstairs, with a four-poster king bed draped in white netting and a balcony overlooking the garden, while the second king room opens straight onto the pool deck under a thatched roof and a billowing canopied lounge. Between them, an eight-metre pool lit softly at night, sunloungers and parasols, and an open-plan living and dining space with a well-equipped kitchen and counter bar.

Service is the real draw. The villa is looked after by a small, attentive team that sets up breakfast, books restaurants and day trips and handles the details, with security through the night. Step outside and the restaurants, boutiques and beach clubs of Seminyak are a short walk or quick ride away, with Double Six Beach close by for sunset.
