At $122 per bedroom per night in low season, Villa Puri Temple is one of the best-value fully staffed villas in Canggu and genuinely one of our favourites. The name says it all: puri means palace in Balinese, and this three-bedroom retreat sits right beside a Hindu village temple that you can see from the upstairs balcony. It is a proper slice of Balinese life, tucked down a quiet lane just 300 metres from Batu Bolong restaurant strip.

What sets Puri Temple apart from most three-bedroom Canggu villas is its entertainment setup. A dedicated party room houses a full 9-foot American billiards table, while the media room has a 42-inch Smart TV with surround-sound home theatre. Upstairs, a traditional bale gazebo with bar and outdoor kitchen overlooks the pool, the neighbouring temple, and on clear mornings the volcanic peaks to the east. Most villas at this price point offer a pool and a TV. This one offers an experience.

The included staff (chef, butler, housekeeper and night security) have been looking after guests here since the villa opened in 2010, and names like Wattie, Ayu and Putu come up again and again in reviews. Multiple guests have returned two or three times, and that kind of loyalty tells you more than any description can.
