Villa Reina
Why We Recommend Villa Reina
At the heart of Villa Reina’s living pavilion, a round sunken lounge drops below the polished floor, its curved cushioned bench wrapped around a low table beneath a slow-turning ceiling fan. It sets the tone for a house in Umalas that is calm, white and full of light, with tall pitched timber ceilings and walls of glass that slide away to the garden. Outside, a long pool lined in green natural stone runs the length of a timber deck, its water glowing jade in the afternoon sun.
Days here follow the shade. Cushioned daybeds sit beneath canvas umbrellas at the water’s edge, a pair of iron fire bowls frames the deck, and at the far end a thatched gazebo hides among palms, heliconia and banana leaves. The open-plan kitchen has a breakfast bar and modern appliances, and a long wooden table seats everyone for slow dinners. Voice control lets you set the lights and the music without leaving your lounger, and a cook can be arranged to prepare local and international dishes.
Each of the three bedrooms has a king bed, its own bathroom and glass doors onto the garden or pool, while the bathrooms bring the outdoors in with dark stone soaking tubs and open-to-the-sky showers among ferns. Umalas keeps the evenings quiet, yet Seminyak and Canggu are both roughly ten to fifteen minutes away, with Berawa Beach, cafés and a supermarket close by.
