Villa V Seminyak

Villa V is the counterpoint to the new-build villas that dominate this side of the island: a genuinely Balinese home on a rare 1,100-square-metre walled garden plot on the Seminyak–Kerobokan border, where carved timber doors, stone statuary and a grand thatched gazebo do what polished concrete never quite manages. This is the Bali of hand-cut sandstone and bougainvillea — and at its centre, a deep emerald pool with a cushioned gazebo daybed perched right over the water.

Days here organise themselves around that pool. Breakfast can arrive on a floating tray among frangipani flowers; afternoons drift between the sun terrace, the shade umbrella and the daybed; evenings settle into the gazebo as the underwater lights turn the pool to glass. The gardens give the villa a sense of estate-like space that six guests rarely get this close to Seminyak — over a thousand square metres of lawn, palms and flowering shrubs behind a traditional walled gateway.

Three air-conditioned bedrooms carry the classical theme with canopy mosquito nets, antique-style doors and warm Balinese textiles; two open directly onto the pool terrace, and the third offers generous wardrobe space for longer stays. A dedicated study nook makes even a work-morning pleasant. Families are particularly well looked after — the villa is calm, enclosed and comes with a complimentary baby cot — and a two-person team plus concierge handles housekeeping, in-villa massages and anything else the day calls for.
