Villa Saujana

Villa Saujana sits on a private clifftop estate in Uluwatu, where a twenty-metre infinity pool runs across a vast landscaped lawn towards the edge of the cliff and the Indian Ocean beyond. Swim a length and the horizon is all you see. Frangipani, palms and flowering gardens frame the scene, and cliff-edge gazebos make the best seats in the house when the sky turns pink at sunset.

The two-storey villa is built for large families and groups who want space to spread out. Downstairs, an air-conditioned living room with soaring timber ceilings opens through glass doors to the pool deck, where cushioned white rattan sofas and sunbeds face the sea beside a shallow wading area for little ones. Upstairs, a second living room and two long eight-seat dining tables take in unobstructed ocean views, served by a chef-worthy kitchen with a wine cooler and espresso machine, and a separate TV lounge is ready for movie nights.

All six bedrooms are ensuite with air conditioning, a TV and a safe, and four can be set up with twin beds or a king, so the house adapts easily to couples, friends and children. The master suite has its own terrace with a large private jacuzzi and a bathroom with a deep bathtub and indoor and outdoor showers. A butler, villa manager, private chef, daily housekeeping and round-the-clock security look after everything, breakfast is included, and the beaches of Uluwatu and southern Bali are a short drive away.
