Villa Sayang d’Amour
Why We Recommend Villa Sayang d’Amour
Its name joins the French and Indonesian words for love, and Villa Sayang d’Amour wears its romance openly: Moroccan tiles, antique furniture, chandeliers and canopied beds swathed in white voile fill a house that is unlike anything else in Seminyak. A seventeen-metre pool runs the length of a wide, palm-shaded lawn, with a hot tub at one end and a shallow children’s pool with its own fountain alongside, so younger swimmers have a place of their own.
The master suite stands apart in a garden pavilion across the pool, with a four-poster bed and a clawfoot tub beneath a chandelier. Inside the main house, jewel-coloured sofas fill an air-conditioned living room that flows into the dining area and kitchen, and there is a media room for film nights. A Finnish sauna sits next to the pool for hot-and-cold afternoons, children have a wooden playhouse in the garden, and up on the roof a covered gazebo with sofas and a dining table catches the evening light.
Breakfast is included every day, and a private chef cooks Indonesian, Western and Asian dishes for lunch and dinner on request, while a villa manager, attendants and round-the-clock security look after the house. Set off Jalan Petitenget, the villa is a short walk from some of Seminyak’s best restaurants and cafes, with Potato Head and the sand at Petitenget Beach less than a kilometre away.
