Villa Sunyata

Villa Sunyata clings to the green hillside on the rocky point between Kata and Kata Noi, high enough to take in an unbroken sweep of the Andaman Sea and close enough that you can walk down to the water from the villa. It is a multi-level home of polished timber, carved roof beams and bright, airy modern rooms, with an eclectic art collection hung throughout. Eight bedrooms across a main house and a separate loft building make it one of the most generous sea-view homes in the area for large families and groups of friends.

Everything outside is arranged around a fifteen-metre infinity pool that seems to spill straight into the bay. Shaded loungers and daybeds line the deck, open-sided salas with timber balconies hang over the treetops, and at the end of the day the sun drops into the sea directly in front of you. Inside, the main living room opens onto the view deck and pool, with deep sofas and full-height glass, while a second lounge holds a billiard table, a foosball table, video games and a TV for rainy afternoons. The dining table seats sixteen beside a modern kitchen, and there is a small gym and a quiet office for anyone who needs to catch up on work.

Three master suites, one on the ground floor and two upstairs, each have their own bathroom and a terrace looking out to sea. Two further bedrooms have twin beds, ideal for children, and the two loft bedrooms sit apart from the main house with king beds, giving older teenagers or a second family a wing of their own. A villa manager, an in-house chef who prepares breakfast every morning, housekeepers, a gardener and security look after the property, and Kata Beach with its restaurants and shops is only minutes away.
