Villa Momo

Villa Momo is a striking modern home high on Kata Hill, all polished concrete, glass and warm wood, with views that roll over the green hills of southern Phuket to the Andaman Sea. It is only a few minutes’ drive down to Kata Beach, yet up here the mood is calm and private. Five king-bedded suites and several levels of living space give a large family or a group of friends plenty of room to spread out and still come together at the end of the day.

The rooftop is the villa’s crowning glory: more than two hundred and fifty square metres of soft lawn with a plunge pool, sun loungers, a day bed, big sofas and a barbecue, set against a sweeping horizon that glows at sunset. Below, a ten-metre pool runs along the front of the house. Inside, the open-plan living room is framed by floor-to-ceiling windows looking out to the hills, with a long dining table for ten beside a sleek, fully equipped kitchen.

Downstairs is pure fun. The cinema room has a high-definition projector and surround sound, and the industrial-style games room comes with a pool table, foosball and air hockey under hanging Edison bulbs. All five bedrooms have king beds, and several bathrooms feature freestanding tubs with views. Housekeeping and 24-hour security look after the villa, a chef can cook on request, and for larger groups Villa Momo can be booked together with its neighbour, Villa Omari, for ten bedrooms in total.
