Lion Villa

Lion Villa is a crisp, contemporary home tucked into lush tropical planting in Layan, the quiet north-west corner of Phuket’s coastline. Clean white lines, planted green roofs and great walls of glass let the garden and the hills beyond flow right into the house, and every main room is bright with natural light. Layan Beach, one of the island’s calmer stretches of sand, is about five minutes away by car, making this an easy, peaceful base for families.

Life centres on the thirteen-metre infinity-edge pool, framed by a wide timber deck with sun loungers, big umbrellas and a shaded pavilion with a dining table for long lunches outdoors. Inside, the open-plan ground floor is designed for families to spend time together: a deep, air-conditioned lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows, a long timber dining table and a sleek kitchen with a large island and quality appliances. Upstairs, a second sitting room with a desk makes a quiet spot for reading, films or a little work.

Five bedrooms sleep up to ten guests. The master suite has a private balcony with leafy views, a sofa corner and a marble bathroom with a freestanding tub, and the second king bedroom also has its own bathroom. Two further bedrooms, one king and one queen, share a bathroom, which suits children or siblings, and the fifth room, a queen, has its own. A villa manager, housekeeper and chef look after the house, breakfast is included, and airport transfers are part of the stay.
