Magic Tuxedo Villa

Magic Tuxedo Villa lives up to its name: a sharp, modern hillside home in black, stone and warm timber, set among the green hills above Choeng Mon on Koh Samui’s north-east coast. Huge sliding glass walls keep the view in play from almost every room, looking out over rolling jungle and scattered rooftops to a bright strip of sea. It is a stylish, grown-up hideaway for two couples or a small family who want design, privacy and a sunset to call their own.

The infinity pool runs along the front of the house, edged in clean stone tiles, so a morning swim comes with nothing but sky and sea ahead of you. Above, a rooftop garden of soft lawn is dotted with oversized nest-style daybeds and hanging egg chairs, all facing the view, alongside a covered lounge with turquoise armchairs and a dining table for evenings outdoors. Down by the pool, a sunken outdoor lounge with plump cushions makes a lovely spot for a quiet drink as the light turns gold.

Indoors, a sunken living area with deep dark sofas opens wide to the terrace, and the sleek kitchen has a large island, built-in appliances and a tidy coffee and glassware nook. The two bedrooms both have king beds, air conditioning and glossy black wardrobes, with glass-walled bathrooms and rainfall showers that feel more boutique hotel than holiday rental. Housekeeping keeps everything in order, and the beaches, restaurants and night market of Choeng Mon are a short drive down the hill.
