Rumah Gemuruh Villa
Why We Recommend Rumah Gemuruh Villa
Rumah Gemuruh is a five-bedroom villa that solves the problem most five-bedroom villas have: it does not feel like a hotel. The bedrooms are near-identical — same timber joinery, same woven wall pieces, same round jute rug — which sounds dull until you are the group deciding who sleeps where and realise nobody has drawn the short straw.
The grounds carry it. A long pool runs beside a lawn fringed with coconut palms, with a timber deck down one side and rice fields beyond. There is a yoga pergola set out on the grass, and a semi-open living pavilion under a pitched roof with exposed rafters, where a deep sectional sofa faces out through a full wall of glass. A cinema room and a sunken lounge give the group somewhere to go when the sun is at its worst.
Dining happens at a big round rattan-backed table beside an open kitchen with a stone island and bar stools — the natural gathering point when ten people want feeding. Each bedroom has its own bathroom in grey stone with an arched mirror and timber vanity, several opening to planted courtyards. A carved timber pergola marks the entrance, which sets the tone before you are through the gate.
