Villa Hok
Why We Recommend Villa Hok
Samujana Villa 6 is a striking, angular house set into the green hills of the Samujana estate, its stone walls and flat planted roofs stepping down the slope towards the sea. What defines it is the pool: a long, slender saltwater infinity pool that cuts away from the house like a ribbon of blue, pointing straight at the bay and the islands beyond. Swimming lengths here, with the horizon at the end of every stroke, is one of the great small pleasures of a Samui holiday.
The main living area is semi-open, so the breeze and the view come right in. Sofas and daybeds line the poolside terrace, a long timber dining table sits beside the water under a stone wall, and at dusk the pool lights up and the whole space turns warm and golden. Inside there is a sleek, modern kitchen, a separate TV room with deep sofas, a private gym and a dedicated spa room with a treatment bed and garden views, so a massage never means leaving the villa.
The five bedrooms spread over three levels for real privacy. The master and two guest rooms open onto wooden decks with sea views, while two more step straight out onto the garden. Every bedroom has a king bed and its own bathroom with a rain shower and a large tub, and some of the bathrooms are open to the sky. One room also has bunk beds, which makes the villa a natural fit for families. Breakfast is included each morning, a villa manager looks after the details, and Choeng Mon’s beach and Wednesday night market are close by.
