Villa Bangkuang

A small stream runs through the grounds of Villa Bangkuang, crossed by a timber footbridge that links the main house to a quiet pavilion of guest suites, a spa room and a gym on the far bank. It sets the tone for the whole place: thatched roofs, tall palms and frangipani, and a long, dark-tiled pool laid across a wide lawn on the edge of the coastal village of Seseh.

The main pavilion opens fully to the garden, its high alang-alang roof sheltering a living room with deep sofas and a long timber dining table that looks straight out to the water. A covered terrace with plump daybeds sits beside the pool, there is a small library room for rainy afternoons, and a barbecue gazebo in the garden for evenings outside. Bedrooms mix rich timber with crisp white linen and four-poster beds, and the bathrooms are dark stone and softly lit, with freestanding tubs and rain showers.

Breakfast is included each morning, and daily housekeeping and security keep everything running quietly in the background. The volcanic black-sand beach at Seseh is around a five-minute walk away, Tanah Lot temple is a short drive up the coast, and the cafés and restaurants of Pererenan and Canggu are within easy reach.
