Villa Desa Roro

The name says it all. “Desa” means village in Indonesian, and “Roro” is a Javanese honorific for a noblewoman — so Desa Roro translates loosely as “Village of the Princess.” It is an apt description. A shallow end makes it practical for younger children, while an elevated mini yoga studio overlooks the water — a pleasant spot for morning stretches before walking next door to Desa Seni, Bali’s acclaimed yoga and wellness resort, whose daily classes in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Kundalini are open to the public. That proximity alone makes Desa Roro an unusually strong base for wellness-minded groups.

Location is another quiet strength. Berawa Beach is roughly 850 metres on foot, Finns Beach Club is a short stroll away, and the cafes and boutiques of Berawa village are within easy walking distance. Echo Beach and its surf breaks are about three kilometres north, and Seminyak’s restaurants and nightlife sit roughly ten minutes south by car. For a property this serene, the access to Canggu’s best stretches is remarkably convenient.

Villa Desa Roro is the kind of property that earns its reputation through character rather than flash. The Joglo architecture, the garden setting and the proximity to Desa Seni give it a personality that few Canggu villas can match, and the Berawa location keeps you connected to the coast without the congestion.
