Villa Emile

Just a short walk from the white sand and famous surf of Bingin, in Uluwatu, Villa Emile is a tropical hideaway laid out across more than a thousand square metres of lawns, frangipani and palms. Low-slung pavilions with dark timber roofs sit around a glittering twenty-five-metre pool, and at dusk the whole garden glows under parasols and lanterns. It feels both expansive and deeply private, a true escape on one of Bali’s most beautiful stretches of coast.

The main living pavilion is open to the breezes on all sides, with deep sofas, woven pendant lights and a long timber dining table that seats the whole group. A large island kitchen sits at one end for self-catering, and the poolside deck has loungers, daybeds and umbrellas for lazy afternoons. Alongside the long lap pool there is a shallow pool for children, plus a separate cinema room for movie nights and a timber yoga bale set among the greenery for morning stretches.

The five bedrooms are calm and characterful, with four-poster beds, stone-walled ensuites and doors opening to the garden and pool. Several rooms have flexible bedding, which makes Villa Emile easy to set up for families as well as friends. A daily team looks after the house, garden and security, and a staircase leads down to Bingin Beach, around two hundred metres away, with Padang Padang, Dreamland and Uluwatu Temple all close by.
