Villa Forever Santai

High on the limestone cliffs of southern Bali, near Pandawa Beach, Villa Forever Santai rises over three storeys to take in a sweeping, near 180-degree view of the Indian Ocean, with the sun sinking to the west each evening. This is the quieter side of the peninsula, away from the busier beach towns, yet the beaches of Pandawa and Timbis are close by, and Uluwatu Temple is an easy drive for sunset.

Outside, a fifteen-metre infinity pool with a jacuzzi stretches along a timber deck lined with loungers, beside a cushioned gazebo for lazy afternoons. Stepping stones cross a calm fish and turtle pond, and in the evening a barbecue and fire pit come into their own. Indoors there is a living room with a fireplace, a long dining table, an open kitchen with a teppanyaki grill, a family movie room, a fully equipped gym, table tennis and a dedicated spa corner for in-villa massages.

Six bedrooms are spread across the three floors. The finest is the Ocean Lookout master on the top floor, where floor-to-ceiling glass and a long balcony frame the sea, and another suite has a sculptural timber bathtub. There is also a children’s room with twin beds, a guest room and two garden-view studios, all with their own bathrooms. A team of ten, including a villa manager, looks after the house, breakfast is included, and the villa can be paired with its neighbour, Villa Forever Pandawa, for twelve bedrooms in all.
