Villa Issi

Villa Issi’s pool runs a full twenty-five metres, a long ribbon of turquoise edged by dark stone walls and a lawn, with a walkway passing overhead. It is a rare length for a four-bedroom house, and it sets the tone for a bold, gallery-like villa where crisp white architecture, lattice screens and playful modern art meet calm, leafy gardens in the middle of Seminyak.

The living room and dining area open through floor-to-ceiling glass onto the pool deck, with deep sofas, bench-style seating and a kitchen shared with the dining space, while a terrace beside the water is set up for barbecues and long lunches. The four king bedrooms are spread for privacy, each with a TV, timber floors and glass doors onto the garden, and every bathroom has a stone bathtub and rain shower, some open to the sky. Upstairs, a breezy deck with beanbags catches the sunset over the treetops.

For all its calm, the villa sits on a peaceful lane within easy walking distance of the beach, the boutiques and markets around Seminyak Square and the sunset spots along the shore. A team of six, including a chef, looks after the house, with breakfast included each day and the option of a Balinese feast cooked at the villa.
