Villa Jeeva Saba

From the shallow ledge of Villa Jeeva Saba’s twenty-two-metre pool, the view runs across a palm-fringed lawn to a black-sand beach, the open ocean and, on clear days, the outline of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan on the horizon. Set on the coast at Saba, in the Ketewel area east of Sanur, with rice fields on either side and Mount Agung rising inland, this is a beachfront estate built on a generous scale.

The house is arranged as three pavilions across the grounds: a Beach House with two master suites, a Coast House with four guest rooms and a Tree House with two more. Inside, antique furniture, carved timber and canopied four-poster beds give every room a warm, traditional Balinese character, while bathrooms open onto stone tubs and garden showers. Downstairs there are two living rooms, two dining rooms with long wooden tables, a media room, a billiards room, a gym and a spa room, and an open pavilion beside the pool makes a breezy place to watch the sunset.

A team of thirteen runs the villa, from a villa manager and personal guest assistant to the chef, housekeepers and security, with breakfast served daily. Bali Safari and Marine Park and the surf at Keramas are each under ten minutes away, Ubud is roughly half an hour inland, and Padangbai and Tirta Gangga make easy day trips along the east coast.
